MARK HUGHES FOUNDATION

The Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF) is a charity formed in Newcastle by Mark and Kirralee Hughes following Mark’s diagnosis with Brain Cancer in 2013. The Mark Hughes Foundation’s mission is to raise much needed funds for research, to create awareness and support brain cancer patients and their families.

VINNIES 'IN HIS SHOES'

In August 2021, Lowes and Vinnies collaborated to get the Homeless men of Australia into clean shoes. Lowes Donated over a Million dollars worth of stock, in the form of men’s shoes, to be distributed for free to the poor. Men are the least considered and most neglected group when donation distributions are allocated.

BUSH FIRE APPEAL

We experienced one of our worst summer bushfire seasons across the country in 2019/2020. Donations were distributed across various organisations to assist the people, animals and firefighters that were directly impacted by these horrific fires.

A START IN LIFE

A Start in Life provides tailored assistance to disadvantaged families to ensure their children can access the same learning opportunities as their peers.

THREAD TOGETHER

Thread Together is the only organisation in Australia whose main mission is to source new and excess clothing from fashion retailers and redistribute items to those in our communities that need it most. They believe that clothing performs a vital role in creating brighter futures for those who need it most.

LISMORE & QLD FLOODS

After a devastating flooding event in March of 2022, with communities significantly affected by the floods, Lowes donates in the form of gift cards directly to the victims in need of reclothing. The salvos distributing to those most impacted by this immense and destructive event.

MCGRATH FOUNDATION

The McGrath Foundation currently funds 145 McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia. Our nurses are at the heart of the McGrath Foundation, working to improve the lives of individuals and families experiencing breast cancer.

LOUD SHIRT DAY

Loud Shirt Day is a fun one day event when you can wear your brightest clothes and raise money to help give the gift of sound and speech to deaf children. Whether you fancy stripes, florals, polka dots or paisley, as long as its got colour and pizzazz, it will be perfect for Loud Shirt Day.

KIDZ WISH

Founded in 2004 to fulfil a need for children who are sick, disadvantaged or have a disability through a large Children's Christmas Party. They have now expanded into providing further services such as therapy, support work, and assisted programs through individual and group sessions at home, school and within the community.

DROUGHT APPEAL

Over the past two months LOWES has been participating in a campaign to help support our Farmers during the recent droughts.Donations from LOWES included: gift vouchers, clothing & footwear while staff were generous enough to donate food gift cards.
