VIC School Savings Bonus Scheme - Eligibility and Code (voucher) Redemption Process – Government general information and guidelines can be found here: -

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the program, a child must be:

  1. a VIC resident and
  2. enrolled to attend school in 2024 (from kindergarten to year 12).

Note: Eligibility is subject to the approval of the respective school that the student attends.

Eligible purchases are limited to the following:

  1. School uniforms, including:
    • Shoes and socks
    • Hats, and
    • Sport uniform and shoes
  2. School equipment, including:
    • School bags
    • Lunch Boxes
    • Drink Bottles
    • Umbrellas and/or raincoats
    • necessary protective equipment (for students enrolled in specialised classes such as chemistry, who may require goggles or a lab coat)
  3. N.B. Other items considered to be eligible purchases:

  4. (For: Trade Schools and children that are on alternative education pathways):

    • High vis polo tops, and shirts
    • Industrial pants and shorts
    • Steel Cap Boots, and shoes
    • Hi vis / reinforced socks, and sock protectors.
    • Safety hats, and other safety equipment – Required.
  5. (For: Students who attend public schools, that are allowed to wear generic (basic) clothing to school as ‘school uniform’, that is outside the school uniform department range, may purchase the following):

    • Basic fleece trackpants and Tops.
    • Basic socks
    • Basic hats
    • Basic shoes
    • Basic Polo tops, and T-Shirts
    • Basic belts
    • Basic shorts

 

In-Store and On-Line SSB Code (voucher) Usage:

  • SSB Codes (Vouchers) can be redeemed in VIC Lowes stores only.
  • Vouchers can only be used to contribute towards Eligible Expenses.
  • VIC SSB Codes (vouchers) expire June 30, 2025.
  • VIC SSB Codes (vouchers) that are activated online to issue Lowes eGift Cards in any denominations are subject to the same expiry date, June 30, 2025 – Lowes eGift cards in this instance, issued online, cannot be redeemed after the 30th of June 2025.
  • VIC SSB Codes (vouchers) cannot be used to purchase Lowes Gift Cards in-store.
  • Lowes Gift Cards and eGift Cards cannot be used as additional payment on to school accounts for purchases made with the VIC SSB code (voucher).
  • VIC SSB Codes (vouchers) cannot be used as payment for Laybys.
  • Multiple SSB Codes (vouchers) can be used in one purchase.
  • Once the VIC SSB Code has been redeemed in the portal by the store staff member, the customer cannot change their mind. I.e., the process cannot be reversed, or a credit cannot be issued to the customer.
  • For online purchases using VIC SSB Codes, if the price of the goods is less than the issued eGift Card amount, then the remaining balance will remain on the eGift card until the 30 June 2025. eGift Cards activated on-line with SSB Code/s (voucher), may be used in-store to purchase eligible school products.

Additional Payments for Instore Purchases: -

  • If the price (value) of the goods purchased is more than the VIC SSB Code (voucher) value limit, the customer must make a separate payment on the respective 30-Day Account, for the difference, in the following tender types: -
    • Cash
    • Credit/debit card.

Additional Payments for On-Line Purchases: -

  • If the price (value) of the goods purchased is more than the VIC SSB Code (voucher) value limit, or the value activated, the customer must paythe difference, in the following tender types: -
    • Credit/PayPal

Note: Lowes Gift cards cannot be used as a payment method.

Zero Card | Loyalty Card:

  • VIC SSB Code (Vouchers) cannot be used in conjunction with Zero card sales.
  • VIC SSB Code (Vouchers) cannot be used as a Zero card payment.
  • VIC SSB Code (Vouchers) cannot be used in conjunction with Loyalty point redemption.

Returns:

  • As stipulated by the Victorian State Government, goods purchased using the VIC SSB Codes (vouchers) Cannot be Refunded.
  • VIC SSB Codes (vouchers) cannot be exchanged for cash, a Lowes Gift Card, or a credit note. As such: -
  • Items purchased with VIC SSB Codes (vouchers), including items partially paid for with another tender type (cash or Eftpos), are not refundable for cash or store credit. Items may only be exchanged for another eligible like (same line & value) product.
  • Please Note: Returns and Exchanges are subject to the guidelines listed within the “Lowes Returns Policy” found here: - https://www.lowes.com.au/returns
  • Once VIC SSB Codes (vouchers) have been redeemed on the VIC SSB portal, the process cannot be reversed – No change of mind.
  • Once the sale has been completed on POS or On-line, the sale cannot be reversed or refunded – No change of mind.
  • If items purchased are incorrect, i.e., wrong size, stock can be exchanged for an eligible like item only.
